The Sebastian Foundation.
Sadly our much loved clinic cat Sebastian passed away this week. In August 1996 Sebastian was found wandering the streets of Mascot and was brought in to the clinic. We desexed him and removed his ruptured eye, and somehow he became a permanent fixture. A few months after he came to us, one of the vets thought he might have a tumour because his stomach was suddenly so big. It turns out that Sebastian had been tricking the staff into thinking that he hadn't eaten and was getting about six meals a day - and so begun his life-long diet! Sebastian was not only smart, but had enormous attitude. He was known to boss around 50kg Akitas and he definitely bossed around the staff. But Sebastian loved everyone, especially the kittens and would groom and teach manners to all our strays. One stray kitten in particular loved Sebastian back so much that she's stuck around, and is now our other clinic cat Schappelle. In honour of Sebastian's memory we will be starting The Sebastian Foundation, a fund for stray cats and kittens, with more information shortly. If you have any Sebastian stories we would love to hear them - email, call or come in to tell us!
